LTA Announces Approval by Boeing Commercial Airplane Company
Zunyi, PRC (Nov. 3, 2000) -- Guizhou Leach-Tianyi Aviation Company, Ltd. (LTA), has received approval by Boeing Commercial Airplane Company for the production of Leach International series J and K relays according to Afred Chu, LTA general manager.
In order to receive approval, relays produced by LTA had to pass extensive testing in U.S. government approved laboratories based on MIL-PRF-6106 and MIL-PRF-83536 requirements. Additionally, an on-site plant audit of the quality control systems, processes and manufacturing controls was conducted.

The J and K series relays are manufactured from piece part kits provided by Leach International and are tested in Leach International U.S. plant to group A acceptance test of MIL-PRF-6106 and to Boeing specifications. On-site quality audits of the LTA factory, along with periodic maintenance of qualification testing based on MIL-PRF-6106 requirements will be performed to maintain Boeing approval. Leach is responsible for the design, materials, processes and testing.
The Federal Aviation Administration has been notified that LTA will produce relays for use by U.S. commercial aviation. The notification provides for the production of Parts Manufacture Approval (PMA) relays at the LTA facility.
LTA is licensed to produce high reliability, hermetically sealed aviation relays, time delay relays and power contactors from piece part kits and processes provided by Leach. The company is a joint venture between Leach International Corporation and Guizhou Tianyi Electrical Company, Ltd. Products are designed and manufactured to meet the specifications of customers in Europe, the Americas and Asia-Pacific.
