Leach Introduces Small, Lightweight Relay Series Designed to Carry Up to 300 Amps
Buena Park, Calif. -- Leach International has developed two small, lightweight relay series - KX and KUL -- designed to carry high-current loads up to 300 Amps.
Offering a compact 1" cube size can, the KX Series advanced family of relays is capable of switching 75A and carrying 160A. This series is designed for aircraft, space, rail and high-reliability applications. The small size allows users to put several relays in a compact area, while the lightweight design facilitates the creation of small-scale assemblies.
Additional features include a single pole, double break configuration, and a temperature range of -55 degrees C to 125 degrees C. For longer life and greater reliability, the relays are hermetically sealed. All relays are designed to Mil-PRF-6106 standards. The KX Relay Series offers various options to ensure the greatest compatibility. Model KXL-X9N features a magnetic latch configuration, while model KXD-X9N offers an auxiliary switch. A slight larger version, the KUL Relay Series is designed to carry up to 300 Amps in low voltage space applications.
A single pole, double throw auxiliary contact is standard on this relay. A propriety design minimizes the voltage drop across the terminals to keep the relay cool while carrying high current. This relay's light weight (150 grams) makes it well suited for space borne applications. The KUL is hermetically sealed and designed to Mil-PRF-6106 standards.
