Leach International to Supply Control Unit
For NORDAM Thrust Reverser
BUENA PARK, Calif.-- Leach International has developed a Thrust Reverser Control Unit (TRCU), which controls operation of the thrust reverser in response to pilot command and sensor inputs, for The NORDAM Group's Nacelle /Thrust Reverser Systems Division.
Featuring five PCB modules housed in a sealed enclosure, the TRCU operates the hydraulic control valves that run the thrust reverser while providing ARINC monitoring of all inputs.
As a component part of the thrust reverser system, the Leach TRCU is the first such product to be mounted directly in the engine cowl on the thrust reverser, allowing short electrical and hydraulic connections for increased reliability and reduced susceptibility to faults. In addition, reduced wiring requirements minimize added weight.
The TRCU is an example of Leach International's "design to requirement" customization capability, as it was designed and manufactured specifically to meet the requirements of NORDAM's thrust reversers and is type-specific, with logic and inputs created exclusively for particular aircraft models. |
