Leach International Marks 80th Anniversary

BUENA PARK, Calif. -- Leach International Corporation, a leading manufacturer of electrical power switching components, celebrates its 80th anniversary in 1999. Founded in San Francisco by Val Leach in 1919, today's company employs more than 1000 people in major facilities in North America, Europe, and Asia.

Serving the aircraft, space and rail industries with a broad array of relays, power contactors, solid state power controllers and associated products, the firm traces its growth through the introduction of a number of product firsts. Beginning with the development of the first "break-in" relay for improving two-way radio communications and the first relays designed for aircraft environments, the company has been a leader in the application of leading-edge technology to meet specific industry requirements.

"Leach International's current preeminent market position results from a decades-long commitment to product and process innovation," says Robert W. Hawkey, president of Leach International's parent company, Leach Holding Corporation. "Over the years, our research and design engineers consistently have sought solutions to many of our industry's most challenging problems."
